On March 19, the 12th Trans-Siberian Arts Festival, jointly supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and the Ministry of Culture of the Novosibirsk Region, was inaugurated at the Arnold Katz State Concert Hall in Novosibirsk. The festival links Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and many cities, presenting diverse art forms such as symphony, ballet and jazz, and becoming a landmark event under the framework of the China-Russia Cultural Year.
At the opening concert on March 19, Chinese conductor Lin Daye performed five classical and modern works spanning China and the West, building cultural Bridges with music. The performance was made possible by Armstrong Music Arts and Poly Armstrong International, and was praised by the Russian State Cultural Fund for “deepening the dialogue of civilizations through music”. Artistic Director Vadim Repin spoke highly of Lin Daye: ” With only one performance, he has won over the Russian audience and musicians, and his artistic charm has already impressed the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra on the first day of rehearsal.”
On March 22, Conductor Lin Daye conducted the Krasnoyarsk Symphony Orchestra, radiating artistic energy to the hinterland of Siberia. Music and dance crossed geographical boundaries and attracted more than 10,000 audience members, promoting the coordinated development of regional culture.
During the festival, the works of classical masters such as Beethoven, Brahms and Ravel were revitalized through the concert, and the special Cuban jazz concert lit up the stage with hot emotions. The ballet chapter brings together the principal dancers of Russia’s top theater, and the world’s ballet star Svetlana Zakharova presents a high-level performance, highlighting the peak level of Russian ballet art.
