Yaroslav Zaboyarkin was born in Leningrad in 1987. In 2011 he graduated as a violinist from the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (Antonina Kazarina class), and in 2016 he graduated as a conductor of operas and symphonies (Mikhail Kukushkin class). In 2013 he organized the Conservatory’s “Concert Program for Students and Graduate Students”.

He has participated in violin masterclasses at the Bavarian Conservatory of Music in Marktoberdorf and at the German Youth Music Academy in the Weikelsheim Palace, as well as masterclasses organized by Hatto Beyer, Stefan Picard, Yuri Temirkanov, Vladimir Fedosheev and Vasily Sinaisky.

In 2010, he won the Shostakovich International Chamber Music Competition in Moscow (with cellist Dmitri Yanov-Yanovsky and pianist Igor Andreev as a trio) and the International String Competition in Jérôme, France.

In 2012, he made his debut as a conductor at the Tokyo International Music Conducting Competition with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, where he was awarded a certificate as a In 2016 he was awarded the “Prize of the International Competition of Artistic and Performing Techniques” in Petersburg Vivat, in 2017 he was awarded the prize of the “Grzegorz Fittelberg International Conducting Competition” (Katowice, Poland) and the “Nino Rota International String Competition”. “Nino Rota International Conducting Competition (Taranto Matera, Italy). From 2007 to 2011, he was a musician with the St. Petersburg State Capella Symphony Orchestra. Since 2011 he has been a member of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra; Founder (2020) and Chief Conductor of the New Chamber St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra.In 2013 he became Permanent Conductor of the Singolo Orchestra of St. Petersburg, and in 2015 he was appointed Chief Conductor and Artistic Director.

He collaborated with the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra and with such musicians as Lucas and Arthur Jussen, Polina Osetinskaya, Amit Peled, Frederik Saez, Alexander Rudin, Olesya Petrova, Peter Lauer, Anastasia Karagina, Miroslav Kurtyshev, Narek Hakhnazayan, Nikolai Bardeiro, and Nikita Borisso-Glei Boussky, among other musicians.

He conducted the first Russian performances of works by a wide range of composers, including Anton Fils, Kurt Atterberg, Louis Spohr, Johann Adolf Haas, Jean-Louis Duport, Johann Wilhelm Hertel, Nicholas Cave, Leopold Hoffmann, Johann Heinrich Fassius, Peter Wolok and Dag Ivar Wren.
