Beijing Modern Dance Company will kick off a month-long tour from April 29th with a new production called The Great Wall which enjoyed its successful premiere in Beijing on January 5th and 6th. Performances will take place in Hohhot, Shenyang, Baoding(Hebei Province), Liaocheng(Shandong Province), Hefei(Anhui Province), Qidong(Jiangsu Province), Shanghai, Xiamen, Zhuhai, Nanning(Guangxi Province) and Shenzhen.
The performance is based on the theme of the Great Wall, which is well-known to the world. In each movement of the dancers, we will see the history that the bricks and tiles want to tell, and witness the time that has passed on the wall.
With a history of 25 years, the Beijing Modern Dance Company, under the leadership of artistic director Yanjinzi Gao, has been hailed as “The most outstanding modern dance performance company in China”. For more than 20 years, the company has adhered to the concept of “interpreting Chinese culture through modern dance”, and has become an international representative figure of “China Story” and a messenger of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
