As COO of Armstrong Music & Arts, working closely with founder Wray Armstrong, Evita Zhang plays an extremely important role in the company’s business development.
In 2019, she and her core team facilitated the formation of a joint venture between Armstrong Music & Arts and Poly Theatre Management, the world’s largest theatre management group under Poly Group, and she was appointed as Executive General Manager. During her tenure, she and her team have facilitated many cultural projects at national, provincial and municipal levels between China and Italy, China and Czech Republic, China and Britain, and China and Israel. She helped the company build an excellent network of relationships and partnerships both nationally and internationally, including theatres/concerts, performers, sponsors, embassies and consulates.
She has helped the company to establish strategic partnerships with several companies, including Hengdian Film & TV Group, Poly Group, China National Performing Arts Association, Shanghai BesTV, Jiangsu Culture Investment Group, etc. She led the team to double the company’s annual turnover before the epidemic.
Performance operation experience.
Bringing in: Russian National Orchestra Asian tour; Top 10 orchestras Israel Philharmonic with Zubin Mehta Asian tour; Top 10 orchestras Czech Philharmonic Asian tour; Violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman recital, Joshua Bell and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, Anne- Sophie Mutter/Krzysztof Penderecki and Sinfonia Varsovia, etc.
Going out: operated the cooperation between Beijing Modern Dance Company and MilanOltre Festival and helped the company to get the title of Festival in Residence in 2021; facilitated the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra’s 6-city UK tour in 2022 for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and UK
Producing experience:
As a producer, she produced Yuanyuan Tan and Her Friends – Magical Night at the Art Museum in 2021, which toured nearly 30 performances in China.
As an executive producer: facilitated the co-production of Midnight Tango in the West End in 2021 and a 20-week tour of China in 2022; facilitated the signing of a 5-year strategic agreement between the Czech Philharmonic, and Jiangsu CulturE Investment Group and Poly Group in the presence of the Czech President and the Chinese Vice Premier; 2017 San Francisco Opera Dream of the Red Chamber tour in Beijing/Changsha and Wuhan.
