The Czech conductor Marek Šedivy is currently the Opera Music Director of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre Ostrava, Czech Republic and the Principal Guest Conductor of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra.
In 2021, although many performances were cancelled/postponed, he conducted several performances of Ostrava’s new production of Smetana’s opera The Kiss, and revival performances of Puccini Tosca and Verdi Ballo in Maschera.
With the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra he continued to perform interesting repertoire on their series as well as in studio, and is excited to make up for the performances lost in the new year. At present he is in rehearsal for a new production of Verlobung im Traum(Betrothal in a Dream) by Hans Krasa to be premiered in February 2022 in Ostrava.
