Sally has 20 years’ experience of working in Asia, having moved to Malaysia in 1998 to take up the post of Administrator at the newly-founded Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. After a short stint at the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Sally headed back to London and after some short contracts at Intermusica and Harrison/Parrott, joined IMG Artists in 2004. She started work in China in 2005 at the Canton International Summer Music Academy in China and took over IMG’s orchestral touring around the Asian region, as well as arranging tours for major artists such as Murray Perahia, Yevgeny Kissin, Renee Fleming and Itzhak Perlman among others. Sally joined Armstrong Arts in 2017 as a senior consultant to work with the team in China as well as developing projects in the wider Asian region.
Sally started her career in the music business over 30 years ago at Van Walsum Management. In 1989 she began a long association with various orchestras starting with the Academy of Ancient Music, followed by four years as concerts manager of the Philharmonia Orchestra, and as head of the London Philharmonic’s concerts department before her departure to Malaysia.
From 2008 – 2016 she worked with the IMG Artists team on the Abu Dhabi Festival.
